Michelle Wong started We Rise To Inspire about a year ago. The concept was to advocate more for women who are now on the rise in terms of their professional careers. Wong wanted to build a community for these women. She wanted to create a platform with mentorship availability for women who are looking to expand their careers. Wong has an event coming up March 28 and 29 of 2019.

Tell us about your upcoming event

It is a cross-industry event with people from the corporate world to the entertainment industry and all industries in-between. They are welcoming everyone. And although it is a women’s event, men came last year, and they are being welcomed back for the coming year. The difference between this year and last year is that this year there will be a workshop that talks about the fundamentals of funding a business. There will also be a session for getting minority- and women-owned businesses enterprise-certified, which is a huge deal if you want to be a vendor for federal contracts.
