Left Coast GenFKDers can catch Executive Director Justin Dent at Politicon 2016, one of the biggest political conferences in the country.
Dent will be bringing his man bun and limitless gift for gab to Pasadena where he will moderate “Transforming Our Community,” a conversation on how community organizations, private-public partnerships and individuals support young adults to thrive and survive after high school. The session takes place in the Hamilton Room of the Pasadena Convention Center at 1PM on Sunday, June 26.
“GenFKD is excited to lead the ‘Transforming Our Community’ at Politicon,” Dent told his employees. “GenFKD started to help millennials connect with the political system. Events such as Politicon help to work against the current disconnect.”
“As GenFKD fights for an education system that is more inclusive of the needs of a ‘new economy’ and those traditionally underrepresented in it, we’re excited to speak with individuals already making great strides to improve their communities and those often least served in them.”
Featuring former Georgia Rep. Dr. Alveda King, a niece of the late Dr. Martin Luther King, actor and political activist John Ratzenberger, Jose Osuna of Homeboy Industries and Illumination Foundation CEO Paul Leon, the roundtable discussion will take GenFKD’s core issues in front of an audience filled with international leaders, political pundits, celebrities and people who actually had to pay for admission.
Tickets are still available for the event dubbed the “Unconventional Political Convention” and Dent has promised free drinks to any conference-goer who says the discount code, “Matt said it was cool.”
