We’re looking for charismatic, outgoing students to join the GenFKD Campus Fellows Program for the 2016-17 school year.
The fellows program is the grassroots advocacy arm of the organization. Its mission is to build campus coalitions that engage students with the economic policy initiatives for which GenFKD advocates. Those being: the preparedness of college students for the labor market, the implementation of financial education and skills-based training in college curriculum and the advancement of economic empowerment for millennials.
We are looking for fellows at the following campuses:
-University of Akron
-Temple University
-North Carolina State University
-Iowa State University
-University of Iowa
-University of Richmond
-Virginia Commonwealth University
This is a paid position with a monthly stipend of $500. Work begins as soon as the semester starts, and continues through May 1, 2017. All applicants must be willing to hold the position for at least one full school year. All grades are welcome to apply.
The GenFKD Campus Fellow is a representative of the organization on campus. Once chartered as a recognized student organization, they will act as president and serve as an ambassador for the national office. Fellows will gain exposure to business leaders and entrepreneurs, experience in a management position, leadership and networking skills, on-and-off campus contacts and nonprofit advocacy experience.
Fellow’s Responsibilities
-Charter GenFKD as a student organization (if not already chartered)
-Increase chapter participation and membership
-Communicate with national office regularly
-Build strategic partnerships with student organizations and leaders on campus
-Advocate for implementation of GenFKD curriculum on-campus
-Recruit potential content creators for the national organization
-Execute campaigns dictated by the national office
-Market and promote organization both on campus and via social media
Qualifications
-Graduating no earlier than May 2017
-Demonstrates exceptional organizational and communication skills
-Passion for or experience with advocacy initiatives
-Desire to be a part of something new
-Ear down on current events and issues, particularly in economics and education
-Involved in the campus community
-Interest in economics and public policy a plus but not necessary
-Past leadership experience a plus but not necessary
