Adrienne Kronovet, the young entrepreneur who’s the founder of startup Ameliora, began her business with a question: “How can we help women be successful?” From there, she developed a clothing line. Made with high-quality materials and attention to detail, Ameliora’s clothes are set to revolutionize women’s work wardrobes. It’s an unfortunate truth that women are judged by the way they dress more harshly than men, so Ameliora’s high-quality garments look to be a way to give women the ability to make a strong impression.

How it’s done

According to its website, all elements of garment production take place in New York City, and the clothes are made in small batches. This represents a major shift from the outsourced, mass-produced,  low-grade clothing peddled by large fashion corporations. Ameliora also touts itself as being led by women, something that informs all their business decisions.

It all goes back to Kronovet’s initial idea of aiding women in business. In a meta twist, the names of the clothing itself come from female mentors in Kronovet’s life. Her project here is an attempt to give back, so to speak. As an entrepreneur at the age of 22, she’s a true success story, and it’s inspiring to see what she’s created in the time she’s had and with the help she’s been given.

Takeaway

Any young entrepreneur can carve a niche for themselves and start a business, but some ideas are clearly better than others. What’s so impressive about Kronovet’s business is how it was founded with a desire to help other women. In an era when women are working on closing the gender pay gap and gaining prominence and respect in business, Kronovet’s idea is timely, relevant and of high quality.
