Why America No Longer Builds Anything

Once upon a time, America was known for pioneering infrastructure. From the Transcontinental Railroad to the Grand Coulee Dam, American engineering projects were considered some of the best in the world. Today, however, we don’t build anything anymore. We have outsourced most of our manufacturing to other countries, leaving us with an outdated and inefficient infrastructure.

Our roads and airports are crumbling, bridges are deteriorating, and airports are increasingly congested. The truth is that America has become a country that no longer builds anything anymore. We have become dependent on foreign countries to provide us with the infrastructure and resources that were once supplied by American industry.

We’ve fallen behind

So, why is it that the United States of America is no longer capable of building anything? We were able to land a man on the moon more than half a century ago, but we are still unable to build a high-speed rail network, despite the fact that countries with much lower resources have figured it out.

In spite of the fact that New York City and Los Angeles are two of the wealthiest cities on the planet, the quality of public transportation in both of these cities is much lower than what you can find in many third-world countries. And some of our airports are even worse. Before I set foot in either the LaGuardia or the Newark airports, I’d rather spend the night in the desert with the Taliban. It is extremely embarrassing.

Spending complacency

Where does all of the money that is spent on this country’s infrastructure go after it is spent? Trillions upon trillions of dollars. And then you get to things like housing, particularly in the cities and states that are run by the left, and it’s an even bigger disaster than it already was.

Due to the fact that the state of California makes it so difficult to build, there is currently a significant shortage of housing, which has caused millions of residents to be unable to afford homes. Because of our illogical and oppressive regulations, as well as the never-ending growth of our governments and the administrative state, the United States is rapidly transitioning into a “build-nothing” country.
